The images are accompanied by affirmations that evoke a sense of relaxation and confidence in your body and your abilities. The affirmation cards work on the principle of hypnobirthing and contribute to an overall positive attitude towards childbirth.

"You are looking at the affirmation cards that I myself received as a gift from a woman close to me years ago to use in my work as a doula. I don't even know why they remained sealed and forgotten. Perhaps because they were waiting to be of use to me in my private life. I found them while cleaning out a drawer the last time I was unplannedly expecting a baby, and because I was having a bit of a hard time feeling completely in tune with my belly and my age, I needed to learn to focus on more important things than what anyone would say about my pregnancy.

I needed to feel the inner strength, to connect to the baby, to stop worrying that my body couldn't handle a sixth child or that the baby might be disabled. It was while waiting for the genetics results that I found these affirmation cards and kept one displayed in my kitchen, in a place I could see while cooking, day after day. They gave me hope that all was well and that the best was happening for me and the baby. I always read the affirmation and repeated it in my mind several times. Then it stayed with me throughout the day.

When the time of childbirth approached, I eliminated the pregnancy affirmations from my pile and kept only the birth affirmations that I had used during the birth itself. I didn't color the cards, I liked them black and white, but I believe that coloring them can also help a woman to accept the affirmations. They only work if you accept them as your own. And they worked beautifully for me.

And because I have a relationship with them, I would like them to come to you. You can buy them for yourself. They can also be a lovely gift for a daughter, granddaughter, friend or sister. I think they can support the kind preparation for childbirth just as much as a woman's pelvic steaming, and so can be part of your journey to a fragrant birth."
